Clinical

 

Dr. Barkin is a Yale trained, Board Certified Adult and geriatric board psychiatrist who treats adult patients with mood disorders such as major depression, bipolar disorder (manic-depressive disorder), and mood disorders from medical causes. He also treats patients with anxiety disorders of all types including panic disorder, social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). Dr. Barkin has experience in treating individuals with neuropsychiatric disorders of all types representing neurologic, medical, and behavioral issues. Neuropsychiatric disorders include behavioral symptoms of neurologic disorders.


Forensic

Defined as a subspecialty, in which scientific and clinical expertise is applied in legal contexts involving civil, criminal, correctional, regulatory, or legislative matters, and in specialized clinical consultations.

Dr. Barkin has experience working collaboratively with attorneys over a broad range of issues including litigation, administrative actions, healthcare policy, and employer/employee issues. We have extensive experience across all phases of the forensic process, from file review to trial testimony.


Corporate Consultation

 

Dr. Barkin brings a wealth of experience to companies exploring all facets of corporate behavior including executive coaching and consultation, labor issues, identification and corrective action across the corporate universe, and productivity maximization. He has worked with corporations across numerous business sectors including government, academia, and large business.


Lecture/Teaching

 

Dr. Barkin continues as a teacher of individuals from a wide variety of industries. These include medical students, resident physicians, attending level physicians, as well as all levels of corporate individuals. He teaches on a wide variety of topics ranging from contemporary medical issues to business concepts.
